  3. La planeación de la capacidad es el proceso de determinar la capacidad de producción que necesita una persona u organización para satisfacer las demandas cambiantes de sus productos o servicios en un cierto periodo de tiempo.

  4. La planificación de la capacidad es el proceso de determinar la capacidad de un departamento o linea de producción para satisfacer una demanda dentro de un marco de tiempo especifico. El proceso considera todas las necesidades adicionales necesarias para cumplir la fecha limite, como externalizar mano de obra, turnos adicionales, inversiones y materiales. En otras palabras, la planificación de capacidad pesa la oferta y la demanda para determinar si una organización tiene suficientes recursos para completar pedidos.
