  2. Service Project 2011 Kids Birthdays can be a difficult time for a family in need and a lot of times it gets overlooked as other needs become more important.

  3. Service Project 2011 St. Cloud Visitors Bureau has suggested a project that will be used by: • St. Cloud Catholic Charities • Bridge of Hope • and the Salvation Army

  4. Service Project 2011 Introducing: The Birthday Bash Bag!

  5. Service Project 2011 It’s a complete party in a recycled decorated bag

  6. Service Project 2011 Attendees to the State Conference are asked to bring 1 or more of the following items: • Cake Mix (make sure it is not out of date) • Can of Frosting (again check the dates) • Candles/Cake Decorations • Wooden Mixing Spoon • Birthday Napkins/Dessert Plates • Party Favors • Birthday Card/Birthday Gift

  7. Service Project 2011 Most of these items are $2.50 or less. The gift would be a little more. Birthday gift - could go by age groups • 4 – 8 years old • 9 – 16 years old Everything needs to be in its original package, check the dates if it’s a food item, and nothing can be wrapped that is put into the Birthday Bash Bag

  8. Service Project 2011 Birthday Bash Bag Decorating Party! There will be a time set aside at the Conference to encourage people to decorate a Birthday Bash Bag

  9. Service Project 2011 Once again we need your help to bring from home: • Recycled Gift Bags • Recycled Grocery Bags with Handles • Leftover Scrapbooking Materials/ Stickers • Colored Construction Paper • Any other materials to decorate a bag • Glue sticks and/or glue, scissors, shapes to trace on paper, pencils

  10. Service Project 2011 Once the bags are decorated, we will fill each bag with some or all the donated items

  11. Service Project 2011 Bags will be put on display and we will vote for our favorite Birthday Bash Bag. The winner will receive a granite turtle donated by the St. Cloud Convention and Visitors Bureau.

  12. Service Project 2011 Personal Needs Items Finding yourself in a situation of no money can be a hardship for personal item needs, as they are not covered by food stamps.

  13. Service Project 2011 Items that could be donated by Conference Attendees: • Shampoo, Conditioner, Combs/Brushes • Body Wash, Soap, Lotion • Lip balm • Toothpaste/Toothbrush/ Floss • Deodorant, Cotton Swabs, Tissues • Phone Cards, Note Cards, Postage Stamps • Could also donate the hotel size toiletries….they tend to collect in peoples’ homes
