  4. Reading LabMonday, September 27, 2010 • Check in: Silent read • Sort your spelling words one time, have me check them and write them in your word study journals. Remember to add the words from last week, if I told you to. • Reading: reread Titanic and answer questions • Freak the Mighty

  5. Tuesday, September 28, 2010 Check in: In your writer’s notebook, practice turning the following “Tell me” statements into “Show me” statements: It was cold. I was scared. She fell.

  8. Peer Response to Student Writing Sample What could the writer do to improve this sample? Model and do together with the first Coffee Pot story. Work with a partner to write a peer response with The First Time I Water skied.

Reading Lab • Check in: Silent read or finish your Titanic questions from yesterday. • Spelling: 1 group meet with me/other group speed sort three times and finish writing your words in your word study journal.
