Project 20-07 Overview • Since 1969, a means to conduct research needed by SCOH and its subcommittees • Currently funded at $1,200,000 annually • Project tasks are typically less than $100,000 and about 12 months • NCHRP Project 20-07 panel selects tasks for SCOH approval • Panel typically chaired by SCOH Vice Chair • Members include SCOH subcommittee Chairs • Sample Tasks include: • Input to AASHTO Specifications and Guides • SCOH and Subcommittee strategic plans • Other information desired by SCOH or its subcommittees

Project 20-07 Process • Highway Subcommittees submit statements two weeks before AASHTO Annual and Spring Meetings • NCHRP Project 20-07 Panel selects topics for funding at the AASHTO Annual and Spring Meetings and submits for SCOH approval • NCHRP staff set up project panels to develop RFPs, typically by phone and email • Contractors selected by the panel to conduct the research • Contractor reports are sent back to the subcommittees that requested them
