  2. o Sending your child to kindergarten is the first step in making your child independent and giving them exposure to the world outside. Before you let your child venture into this unknown space, make sure you impart certain skills which can make them ready for the journey ahead. What are the 5 important kindergarten readiness skills for your child? o Help your child recognize and write the alphabet and numbers o Teach them how to hold a pencil o Help your child classify different objects according to shape and size o Listening to instructions and acting accordingly o Recognition of sight words like “stop, go etc.” What is the right age to send your child to kindergarten? o In most circumstances, children should be 5 years old by fall or late summer to be enrolled in kindergarten.
