Remarks • WREC XIV are enormous event attended by key people in the field of Renewable Energy, its science, technology, resources surveyor, RE proponents, consultant, manufacturers, power industries, government and regulators and the green energy activists. • ASEAN and Indonesia are countries having huge RE opportunities, and strongly supports of International Industries to Renewable Energy Implementation and Dissemination in order to meet with energy efficiency and global warming effects issue and program. • Wide participations of various Renewable Energy technologies and Energy Efficiency in the WREC 14th 2016 for Speakers, Paper Contributors, Congress Sponsors and Exhibitors. • As to indicate the progressive RE and Energy Efficiency projects development in ASEAN countries, the WREC 14th expects the project cooperation established between Indonesia and other countries world wide that would be exhibited in the WREC XIV in 2016.

The 14th Conference on WREC • WREC is a Forum for the Business, Engineer, Scientist, Environmentalist, and Industry related to the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency to meet, promote, publish, and exhibit their product and progress. • WREC Regional events have been conducted by IRES: • In 2005 , Jakarta; • In 2007 , Jakarta; • In 2009 , Jakarta; and • In 2011 , Nusa Dua-Bali • WREC XIV 2016 will be conducted in Jakarta – Indonesia by IRES in cooperation with the WREN-Indonesia, in April 27-29th, 2016 at Jakarta International Convention Centre

Proposed Theme of the 14th WREC 2016 “Synergizing Investment and Intelligent Technology for Boosting in Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency” • Rapid growth of world energy demand, declining conventional primary energy resources, and growing concern of global warming combined with limited world-wide investment capacity have created near-term and long-term future challenges among the power industry to synergize world investment capacity and the needs of intelligent technology to develop alternative, economically viable, efficient use and clean technology to ensure sustainable development of world economy and prosperity.

Visit the Borobudur temple which was once regarded as one of the many wonders of the world and also visit the Keraton Yogya [Sultan’s Palace] and more.

Field Trips Before The Congress… FT – 2 Manado Lahendong, tour to the facilities of Lahendong Geothermal Field and Power Plant and visit the Masarang Palm Sugar Factory, the first of its kind in Indonesia and the first to be powered by geothermal steam.   21. Field Trips After The Congress… FT – 3 Bandung – WayangWindu, tour to the WayangWindu Geothermal Field and Power Plant where the largest single geothermal turbines are installed. Visit Lembang, where we can view the TangkubanPerahu, an active volcano located just outside of Bandung where visitors can hike or ride to the edge of the crater to view the hot water springs up-close, also more places to visit.

  26. JAKARTA • GeographyJakarta is located on the northwest coast of Java, at the mouth of the Ciliwung River on Jakarta Bay, which is an inlet of the Java Sea. Officially, the area of the Jakarta Special District is 662 km2 (256 sq mi) of land area and 6,977 km2 (2,694 sq mi) of sea area.The Thousand Islands, which are administratively a part of Jakarta, are located in Jakarta Bay, north of the city. • ClimateJakarta has a tropical monsoon climate according to the Köppen climate classification system. Jakarta is originally the home of the Betawi people, a type of Melayu people. But in recent times, these people are already intermarried and some are forced to live in rural area because of the urban condition of Jakarta. With this kind of urban condition, Jakarta is facing a severe problem of homeless people, unemployment, poverty, and crimes. • CultureAs the economic and political capital of Indonesia, Jakarta attracts many domestic immigrants who bring their various languages, dialects, foods and customs.

  28. WREN 2016 VENUE The Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) also known as Balai Sidang Jakarta Convention Center is located in Gelora Bung Karno Sports Complex, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, Indonesia. The Balai Sidang Jakarta Convention Center spans around 120,000 sqm and comprises a round theater-style hall, two exhibition halls, an assembly hall, a banqueting hall, a spacious main lobby and atmospheric lower lobby, VIP rooms and lounges, and ten further meeting rooms which can be configured to match specific event requirements.

THE HOST ORGANIZERWorld Renewable Energy Network (WREN) What is WREN? • World Renewable Energy Network (WREN)is a major non-profit organization registered in the United Kingdom with charitable status and affiliated to UNESCO, the Deputy Director General of which is its honorary President. It has a Governing Council, an Executive Committee and a Director General. It maintains links with many United Nations, governmental and non-governmental organizations. •  WREN established in 1992 during the second World Renewable Energy Congress in Reading, UK, WREN is one of the most effective organizations in supporting and enhancing the utilization and implementation of renewable energy sources that are both environmentally safe and economically sustainable.Representing most countries in the world, it aims to promote the communication and technical education of scientists, engineers, technicians and managers in this field and to address itself to the energy needs of both developing and developed countries.

THE HOST ORGANIZERThe Indonesian Renewable Energy Society (METI) What is METI? • The Indonesian Renewable Energy Society (METI) was established on May 5th 1999 by a group of intellectuals, government officials, private companies and professionals as a forum of communication, concern with the unabated use of renewable energy and energy efficiency sectors. • METI is a non-profit organization which activities involve formulating opinions and ideas to develop and expand the renewable energy and energy efficiency industries in Indonesia, at the national as well as international levels. • METI membership covers all elements: individuals, associations, companies, business, academics, etc.

THE CO – HOST PT PERTAMINA (PERSERO) • Historic mark of the establishment of PT Pertamina (Persero) as state companies since 1957 to change the legal status of being firm limited liability company (persero). On 10 December 2005, in response to business competition, PT Pertamina (Persero), changed its logo from a sea-horse into an arrow shape with the 3 basic colors of green, blue and red. This logo represents dynamism as well as an environmental friendly attitude in the implementation of the Company’s business activities.

THE PRIMARY CO - HOST SPONSOR PT PLN (Persero) • PT PLN (Persero) (“PLN”) is a state electricity enterprise which has been entrusted by law as the authority holder of electricity business in Indonesia. • PLN manages over 30,000 MW of power generating capacity and 35 million costumers throughout archipelago, makes electricity ratio about 60 % and the electricity growth rate 7-8 % per annum. The government targets to raise electricity ratio become 90% by 2020.
