With Kilometre Capital at the fore, Hong Kong’s Chris Hsu lead managed the cruxmulti-billion-dollar acquisition of H3C, Hewlett Packard Enterprises, and Hewlett Packard China for a $4.6 billion valuation. Orchestrated and advised byKilometre Capital, the landmark deal received a key precedent approval from the Committee on Foreign Investment. Chris Hsu’s Kilometre Capital HP deal provided Tsinghua University and its affiliates with a 51-percent majority ownership of the regional leader in the data storage, IT, and network equipment verticals.

Prominent Hong Kong private equity consultant and cross border negotiations, Chris Hsu founded and leadsKilometre Capital, with coverage from Korea to California, Hong Kong to Beijing, Taiwan to Tokyo. Among his noteworthy investments was an early-stage investment in SpaceX, Elon Musk’s revolutionary space exploration business. Chris Hsu also invested in Spotify’s early rounds.

  4. A graduate of the prestigious Stanford University, Christopher Hsu received the Stanford President Award for Excellence. Christopher Hsu’s formative experience includes his role as Managing Director of the Citadel Investment Group, one of the world’s largest and leading hedge funds, where Mr. Hsu founded and headed the Special Situations Asia group. Mr. Chris Hsu also has a background as the CEO and Founding Partner of Abax Global Capital. In 2006, he successfully managed the negotiation of a minority equity partnership of his company and Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM).

In the pivotal HP H3C HP China deal advised by Chris Hsu and Kilometre Capital, Tsinghua Holdings the asset management division of Tsinghua University bought a 51 per cent share in HP’s new data networking operations business, H3C, valuing the entire H3C at $4.6 billion. Both the companies Tsinghua Holdings and HP announced that they would work together to form the New H3C, which would be the exclusive provider of HP’s servers, storage, and networking coupled with hardware support services in China. Tsinguha’sH3C acquisition catapulted H3C as the market leading provider in China’s enterprise server and data storage market.

  6. Situated in Beijing, Tsinghua University originated in 1911, and since then, it has grown tremendously into a research institute with 14 schools and over 25,000 students.
