  4. SO…HOW WE OFTEN RELATE TO… GOD’S PARENTAL AUTHORITY & INSTRUCTIONS TAUGHT BY CALVIN AND HOBBES

  5. “THE GOD AND FATHER OF OUR LORD JESUS THE MESSIAH” (Ephesians 1:3, 17) “OUR FATHER” / “ABBA” IN THE GOOD TIMES OF LIFE

  6. The ABBA WHO… Abba who –sings and dances when we come close and thrive in life (Zephaniah 3:17)

  7. The ABBA WHO… Abba who says start the party when we turn from our self destruction and others destruction and come home – Luke 15

  8. The ABBA WHO… is “pleased” and “delighted” when we allow Abba’s love and presence to transform us more fully into the “image and likeness of God”(Romans 12:1-2)

  9. The ABBA WHO… is stubbornly committed to good for us—wastes no situation—works toward the good of being more like Jesus whenever we allow Abba to do so (Romans 8:28-30)

  10. The ABBA WHO… Is “WITH US”

  12. The ABBA WHO… Loves us when we are ANGRY with God Egs. Jeremiah 12 and Psalm 1 Psalm 83:1-2 and 44:23 “wake up” “quit being silent” “don’t you see?”

  13. The ABBA WHO… Loves us when we are certain a BIG GOD cannot understand us fragile humans Eg. Psalm 90-God’s timing -- for you a day like 1000 years, I am lucky to live 80 years and be barely healthy most of those

  14. The ABBA WHO… Loves us when depressed because of heartbreak and evil -- feeling like God is against us or doesn’t care at all Eg. Naomi

  15. The ABBA WHO… Loves us when we are confused and hopeless and nothing makes sense Eg. Disciples “we used to hope” Jesus was God’s answer (Luke 24:21)

  16. The ABBA WHO… Loves us when we feel completely abandoned by God Eg. “My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?” Psalm 22:1 and Mark 15:33

  17. The ABBA WHO… Is “WITH US” In the GOOD, BAD, and In-Between

  18. COMMUNION: ABBA’S NEW COVENANT – “binding promise” that BROKEN BREAD: Jesus’ Broken Body can become God’s Bread of Life FRUIT OF THE VINE: Jesus’ spilled life-blood can become the Wine of life for the Banquet Celebration of Jesus’ Forever Human Family

  19. Matthew 26:26-28 26 While they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed it, broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, “Take and eat. This is my body.”  27 He took a cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from this, all of you. 28 This is the binding of the covenant with my life-blood, which is poured out for many so that their sins may be forgiven.
