  3. FEMA Individual Assistance (IA) program – Helps individuals + families impacted by disaster recover a basic, life-living environment.

  5. What does FEMA IA provide?

  6. Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) • Key component of Individual Assistance (IA). • Hub of other assistance.

  7. DRCs + Applicant Readily accessible facility or mobile office . . . • Face-to-face time. • Applicants go for information. • Resources to assist with disaster recovery.

  8. DRCs may include . . . FEMA + State + Local Government Agencies + Voluntary Agencies + Other Federal Agencies (OFA)

  10. DRCs – Consider site location NOW! • Consider multiple sites. • Must be requested by parish.

  11. DRCs – Site location (Continued . . . ) • Parking + handicap accessible. • FEMA Inspection Team is required prior to signing lease. • Up to code.

  12. DRCs – Site location (Continued . . . ) • Public facility – No-cost lease. • Can notco-locate with. . . • Pod sites orfood stamp distribution centers. • Centrally located to area of damage.
