  1. Network Side Fast Handover in Mobile IPv6 (NS-FMIPv6) Hongseok Jeon ETRI jeonhs@etri.re.kr

  2. Overview of NS-FMIPv6 • Difference with FMIPv6 • No involvement of MN • No new CoA pre-configuration • HI & HAck by L2 trigger, not FBU from MN • Initiated by L2 trigger on network elements • Establishing Bi-directional tunnel between PAR and NAR by Hi and Hack • Forwarding packets towards NAR via the Bi-directional tunnel • Packets delivery on NAR by Host Routing

  3. NS-FMIPv6 Operations

  4. Conclusions • NS-FMIPv6 requires an involvement of only Access Routers, not intermediate Routers and MN • NS-FMIPv6 improves handover performance using packet forwarding and buffering via Bi-directional tunnel • NS-FMIPv6 uses just HI and HAck as a signaling message

  5. Q&A • Thanks a lot! • Contact information • HeeYoung Jung (hyjung@etri.re.kr) • HongSeok Jeon (jeonhs@etri.re.kr)
