  3. Section 1 Review Mission Objective

  4. 1-South Korean Mission Objectives The US, now less tolerant of troops overseas, has pulled ground forces from Korea. You are all that separates the free Republic of Korea from Kim Jong-il taking Seoul, prevent this by: • Deploying your forces south the DMZ (yellow) to delay the northern aggression such that… • The Tongil Bridge (red) can be destroyed at the end of turn 10 denying the North a direct route to Seoul. • North Korean troops immediately on both sides of the bridge at the end of turn 10 qualify for North Korean victory

  5. Review Mission Objectives • Delay the North from crossing the DMZ • Hold the Tongil Bridge by turn 10

  6. Section 2 Choose battle group option

  7. 2 – Choose Battle group option • The battle group options are each tailored to a particular style of command • They are also designed to make the decision difficult, a gain in one trait is a loss in another • Please note the Battle group’s highlighted notes as they may impact your tactics

  12. Section 3 Note Troop Start Positions

  13. 3 - Note Troop Start Positions • Plot start points of the Squadron CO and ‘A’ and ‘B’ company’s HQ’s on the following map with the erasable pen provided. • On step 4 of the briefing you will place each command’s troops within a 10cm radius around the commander. • The dragon teeth and road block can be placed anywhere south of the DMZ but dragon teeth can NOT be placed on roads. • Option #1: DO NOT plot ‘C’ company as they arrive as noted in Option #1’s notes. • Option #2: Plot FAC’s anywhere south of the DMZ, they act independent of COs and HQs

  14. (ALL HILLS ARE WOODED)

  15. Section 4 Deploy Troops

  16. 4 – Deploy Troops • Verify North Korea has completed steps 1-3 of their briefing, failure to do so will tip your hand, you cannot afford such a mistake! • Once N. Korea has completed steps 1-3 of their briefing, deploy your ‘A’ and ‘B’ Company commanders and FACs if you chose option #2. • Remember ‘C’ company deploys later if you chose option #1 • With Commanders deployed, place their troops anywhere within 10cm of their commander mounted or dismounted. • The game will begin with N. Korean deployment and movement

  17. Defend Your Nation! • North Korea will now begin their assault! • Prevent them from taking the Tongil Bridge on or before turn 10!
