We get milk from goats. Some people can’t drink cows milk & drink goats milk instead. Goats milk is used for cheese, yogurt and even moisturiser. Where does milk come from?

  3. Milk farming • Some farmers keep cows for their milk. • The cows eat grass and produce lots of milk. • The cow need to be milked twice a day in a special milking shed.

  4. Where does milk go? • Years ago, farmers had to milk by hand but now they have special machines and milking takes about 1 hour. • A creamery truck comes and collects the milk. In the creamery, it is pasteurised this makes it safe to drink and makes it last longer.

  5. Uses of Milk • At the creamery, the thick cream is taken off the top of the milk and this is used for cream, butter and cheese. • The milk left over is put into cartons and brought to the shops
