  2. Why Change the name? • We are changing the name “Computer Lab” to “Digital Learning Lab” because: • The Common Core State Standards integrate digital literacy into the daily curriculum and our students are doing more than just keyboarding. They’re using technology to communicate, create, and learn & share knowledge. We are preparing our students to be college and career ready by exercising and expanding their technological skills in a Digital Learning Lab. • Teachers are using different methods, have different expectations and students are producing different outcomes these days.

  3. What is a digital learning lab? • A Digital Learning Lab is a place where students and teachers gather to learn, investigate, and create using digital media. • Here students come to: • Read and write digital text • Communicate • Gather and analyze information or data • Produce and share knowledge • Create and/or compose

  4. DLL • Digital Learning Labs (DLLs) are changing the way our students learn. They will be inspired to creatively learn and use critical thinking in a hands-on environment using digital media. • DLLs encourage students to foster creativity and collaboration.
