  3. Title I: What does this mean for our school? A Title I school is : • a school that receives Title I money, the largest single federal funding source for education.

  4. Who Does Title I Help? It is intended • to help ensure that all children have the opportunity to obtain a high quality education and reach grade-level proficiency. • Title I funds help students who are behind academically or at risk of falling behind.

  5. Title I Services Services can include: • Hiring teachers • Reduce class size • Tutoring • Computer labs • Parental involvement activities • Professional development • Purchase of materials and supplies • Pre-kindergarten programs and • hiring teacher assistants or others.

  6. Lenoir County Public Schools • All Lenoir County elementary schools are Title I schools.

  7. Parents Right to Know • Parents have the right to know the qualifications of teachers and the assistants that work with their children. • Letters sent to parents in August • Contact K. Dunn at 527-4166 for information.
