Types of Counseling Services • Providing Counseling services at divisional level • Intervention of psychosocial problems • Conducting awareness programs on counseling . • Conducting treatment counseling clinics • Conducting 30 individual /family Counseling session per month • Conducting 4 preventive awareness programs per month. • Providing counseling services in hospitals, prisons, children & • elders home , mental health clinics and maternity clinics

SPECIAL COUNSELLING PROGRAM UNICEF Project – upto 2011 • Main Activities • Identifying the psychosocial problems of IDP’s • Conducting individual ,group and family counselling sessions • Coordinating other government and non government organizations of welfare activities. • Supporting Reunification and elders release activities • Referring to relevant authorities. (psychiatry, Medical , Government or NGO • Counselling program for IDP’s [Vavuniya] • Started from January 2009 • Attached 110 Counselors up to May 2009 • Attached 30 Counselors up to February 2010. • Attached 10 Counselors up to June 2010.

Activities of NSPD Creating enabling environment for PWDs Regulations for accessibility to built environment was published as per gazette notification, dated 17/10/2006 under the Act No: 28 of 1996 The decision of the supreme court directs to provide accessibility for PWDs in regard to new “Public Buildings” dated 14/10/2009

  11. Provision of assistive devices namely Wheel Chairs, Crutches , Elbows, Spectacles etc. Conduct of mobile service camps Housing Assistance for PWDs, maximum of Rs. 100,000 per house
