  2. Polar Bear . When people think of the largest animals, they probably don’t think about this white monster. Sadly these bears are endangered, they live in the icy habitats of the north and due to the melting and climate change they are now critically endangered. These animals live to be between 15 and 18 years old but some have been seen to live to be 30-40 years. At a time they normally have 1-2 cubs in a litter and they have no natural enemy, except humans and occasionally other polar bears. Height: Average adult male 8.5 ft. (2.6 m)                  Average adult female 6.5 ft. (2 m)     Weight: Average adult male 900 lbs. Average adult female 500 lbs.

  3. Hippopotamus • The Hippo comes in 4th, it is an amphibious animal who spends about 90% of their time underwater. Hippos live to be at least 50 years and weigh about 3.5 tons. The largest hippos live in East Africa. Hippos are very aggressive, and their normal feeding is on greens like water grass, but when they have the chance to eat meat, they will easily go after a human. If you see a Hippo yawn, run away as fast as you can, this is a sign of a soon after attacking, or fight.

  4. Rhinoceros First in the top 3 of the largest animals we have the Rhinoceros. They live in rich grasslands and savannas, there are two kinds of rhinos. There is the black rhino, and the white rhino, which is a little larger, weighing at 2 tons. The white rhino is the second largest land mammal next to the elephant. The five species range in weight from 750 pounds to 8,000 pounds and stand anywhere from four and a half to six feet tall. They are vegetarians and hardly ever eat meat, but will attack any human or other large living creature close to them as they are very aggressive as well.

  5. African Bush Elephant The African Bush Elephant is the largest living terrestrial animal, with males reaching 6 to 7.5 meters (19.7 to 24.6 ft) in length, 3.3 meters (10.8 ft) in height at the shoulder, and weighing 6 t (13,000 lb). Females are much smaller, reaching 5.4 to 6.9 meters (17.7 to 22.6 ft) in length, 2.7 meters (8.9 ft) in height at the shoulder, and weighing 3 t (6,600 lb).

  6. Blue Whale The blue whale is the largest animal in the world. Females are larger than the males, and have babies that are already among the largest animals of the world. At 30 meters (98 ft) in length and 180 metric tons (200 short tons) or more in weight, it is the largest known animal to have ever existed. The Blue Whale is thought to feed almost exclusively on small, shrimp-like creatures called Krill.
