    6. Problems of the Operation when managing Sewage and Wastewater Treatment Plant - So far there are no wastewater treatment plants in our country, the outlets of the primary sewer network are into storage basins in Phnom Penh which are used as treatment plants. - The problem of storage basins mainly lies with thier progressire filling by silt and other solids brought in through the combined sewer system, direct runoff on street surface during flooding and sludge from septic tanks.

    7. - Municipality wastewater is primarily disposed of through a network of sewage drainage pipes that empty into retention basins known as Beong. - The wastewater in the basin is later pumped into rivers and lakes. In Phnom Penh, for example, there is a network of sewage/drainage pipes and 11 pumping station covering the 6 main catchment areas: Beong Trabek, Beonk Salang, the Khmero Russian Hospital vicinity, Daun Penh New front of Basac, and Toul Kok.
