  1. Create your Designer Portfolio

  2. A design portfolio is a curated collection of a designer's best work that shows their skills, methods, expertise and versatility.

  3. Things to know about building a portfolio Present your work as a case study Showcase real- world work Carefully curate your portfolio Make your portfolio easy to navigate Talk about results

  4. Present your work as a case study To give recruiters vital insights, designers tell compelling stories in text and images to show how they handled problems. Such narratives showcase designers’ skills and ways of thinking and maximize their appeal as potential hires. So it is most important to add case study in your portfolio

  5. Carefully curate your portfolio Curated is an important word here, because it should be short and sweet. It’s a chance to share what you want potential employers to know about your work on this project.Choose your best deliverables for each stage and briefly relate them back to the larger narrative. It can be tempting to overload the page with everything you created along the way, but these extra details should stay in your back pocket for interviews..

  6. Showcase real- world work The real-world work demonstrates your character—it shows that you can work with a team of stakeholders, under tough deadlines and constraints. And if that project has a poor outcome, talking about it is good. You’re not ashamed of the un-sexy work you’ve created, but you’re smart to be critical of the outcome.

  7. Talk about results User experience is about solving human problems, which employers want to see in a UX portfolio—along with teamwork, UX design processes, and what you’ve learned from successes and failures. So don't forget to add the result of your projects.

  8. Make your portfolio easy to navigate Make sure a user can move through your portfolio quickly and with ease. Make sure it’s easy to browse on mobile! If the user experience of your portfolio isn’t as good as the user experience of your work, it doesn’t reflect well on your talent as a designer.
