  3. How baseball is played • When you play baseball there is offense and defense. • On offense, the batter tries to hit the ball with a bat and drive it out of the reach of the people in the field. • By hitting the ball, and in other ways, players advance around the four bases on the field.

  4. How baseball is played • Then you have defense • Defense is when a player of the team in the field called the pitcher, throws a baseball toward a player of the team at bat, called the batter. • The pitchers purpose is to get the batter out.

  5. Equipment • You have baseballs, gloves, bats and many other things. • A baseball is a small, hard round ball.

  6. Equipment • A baseball bat is a long rounded piece of wood. • You also have three kinds of gloves, the catchers mitt, the fielders glove, and the first baseman's mitt.

  7. Babe Ruth • Babe Ruth is the most famous baseball player to ever live. • He hit 714 homers, and 50 in four different seasons.

  8. Famous Players • Jackie Robinson is a legend in the baseball world. • He broke the color barrier in the MLB. • Joe DiMaggio helped lead the Yankees to 9 world championships. Jackie Robinson Joe DiMaggio
