Confidence Building ! • 75 days are enough even if you start today! • Expect, however, that you have already started preparation • Getting about 50% of the marks would get you into striking distance • CAT tests the Mental Strength as much as it tests your Aptitude. • Planning correctly and executing is the “Mantra”

Current competency level in Areas – Taking Stock! • Quant Area • Arithmetic, Algebra, Numbers, Geometry, Pure Math, Miscellaneous • Data Interpretation • Tables, PI Charts, Bar Charts, Line Graphs, Traingle, Venn D, Cubes, Max/Min, Tournament, Games • Logical Ability • Selection, Distribution, Arrangements, Networks, Binary Logic, Circular Arrangements, Other Puzzles

  4. Some more moot questions to ask yourself! • Verbal Ability • Grammar, Vocabulary – types of questions • Para Jumbles, Sentence Completion, Critical Reasoning • Reading Comprehension • How much time you take to solve one RC psg of 600 words and 3 questions?

  7. Three Stages of Preparation ! • Knowledge Phase – Till Aug End • Consolidation and Plan Phase – 1st to 25th Sept • Execution Phase - 26th Sept – 15th Oct

  8. Ability to understand every type of question that can come in CAT Action: Solve and revise every topic/chapter/type of question in all areas. Write every SmartCAT and complete 50 sectional tests. Get to a position where you are attempting at least 40 questions in Smart CAT 12. Accuracy is not important here, but honest attempts and not guess work! Revise all questions of every Smart CAT. Check the solutions of those questions that you are not good at or not solved the chapter yet. Knowledge Phase: 5th Aug – 31st Aug

Two fold preparation – Tests and Practice Exercises • Quantitative Ability • Work on Practice exercises and Tests on alternate days- for each topic. • Verbal Ability/ Reading Comprehension • Take a Test daily of RC – review answers and vocab • Work on Para Jumbles, Sentence Completion questions every five days • Revise Grammar concepts every 10 days • Data Interpretation & Logical Ability • Solve 3 sets of DI every day • Solve 3 sets of LA puzzles every day

Revise all SmartCATs till date in the first week Solve Previous CAT papers (CAT 99 to CAT 08) Revise difficult topics Solve another 50 Sectional Tests – Daily Verbal is a must Write all Smart CATs Experiment on Test Taking Strategy Ensure that you get every doubt/concept clarified Consolidation Phase: 1stSept – 25th Sept

  11. Finalise Strategy of writing the exam. Write a Mock CAT and a Smart CAT alternately (3 days one exam) Thoroughly revise each Smart CAT and analyse your methodology of writing your paper. Take additional sectional tests to revise/hone your competence in areas which don’t fetch marks Execution Phase: 26thSept – 15th Oct
