  6. 2) SUNY & CUNY Student Research Symposium LOB - Albany NY Annual, alternates grad/undergrad, poster exhibition February 29, 2012 - UNDERGRAD Projects are defined: "undergraduate research projects or creative endeavors that represent the breadth of academic work at its campus and/or a creative research specialty that highlights the campus.“ Student Research Presentation OPPORTUNITIES

December 12th: Poster description, electronic mock-up of poster, and faculty recommendation due to Danielle.Benedict@esc.edu • December 19: Faculty selection committee will convene to select three projects for submission to SUNY and three alternates For additional information, contact Dee Britton or Danielle Benedict Discovery:  An Undergraduate Showcase

  8. 3) Master’s Level Graduate Research Conference Annual, SUNY Brockport Open to Master’s level students across the disciplines from all colleges and universities in upstate New York and nearby southern Ontario, Canada Deadline to submit proposals: Feb 4 Conference: April 14 Student Research Presentation OPPORTUNITIES

  9. Student recognition other than symposium/conference? • GRAD: Dean’s Medal • GRAD: Outstanding Research Award

  10. Help for students? • They can’t do this unless faculty are mentoring them, working together, give constant feedback • Faculty takes responsibility • The ones accepted at conference/symposium are reimbursed for their travel by GRAD

  12. A. GRAD Committee for Student Research • Calls for nominations/proposals, screens submissions, provides rankings, and decides on which submissions will be sent out to conference/symposium evaluation committees • Decides on Dean’s Medals and Outstanding Research Award INITIATIVES

  13. B. GRAD Quantitative Literacy Task Force “Quantitative Methods and Economic Concepts” Includes individual module for Research Methodology Open type Repository on Angel No Credit; Open Access INITIATIVES
