  1. DCS Network Close-out

  2. DCS Network • DCS Network covers: • Ports in SG2 for Gas systems (26) • Few ports in ACR (DCS dedicated equipment) (4) • Majority of ACR is DAQ network • Ports in CR1-CR4, for DCS equipment (~120) • Mainly CR3 (PCs) and CR4 (detector equipment) • [CR1: DAQ network, CR2: HLT network] • Ports on CR5 (plug) for gas, safety and detector equipment (18) • Ports in UX (250 ports + 40 ‘uplinks’) • “ALICE” Switches in UX • to connect detector FE such as DCS boards, RCU etc. • Connection into the detector up to detector FE Installed and maintainedby IT/CS Installed andmaintainedby ALICE ALICE Technical Board

  3. DCS Network - GPN • GPN (General Purpose Network) is currently only available in: SXL2, CR1-4, ACR and offices above ACR • The GPN will be installed/extended in the same installation campaign in those places where there is no GPN (or insufficient) available. Mainly • Gas building SG2 (10) • CR5 (plug) (4) • UX (50) • Outside barracks ALICE Technical Board

  7. Summary • All “IT/CS installed” network (DCS & GPN) has been ordered • Installation will start end of the month, through April • For “ALICE installed” part: • Switches were tested by TRD, wait green light for ordering • Cables into detector are in cable DB and length checked • Minor modifications might still be possible while installing • More important changes will need an additional installation campaign • With its costs and uncertain delays ALICE Technical Board
