  1. 2nd Grade Weekly Newsletter October 6th-10th Candlewood Elementary School + Homework for the Week: + Important Dates * * • Math: • Even and Odd Numbers • 10 more or 10 less than a given number • Science: • Force and Motion • Reading: • Complete Reading Passages • Students must read independently for 20 minutes (No Log) • Spelling: • Vowel sound al • Spelling Choice Board • Writing: • Grammar Homework • Document Based Questions • Social Studies: • Where I Live October 6th-10th: School Book Fair October 10th: Bike Rodeo (2nd Grade @ 9:15am) and Early Release at 11:30am October 10th: Parent Conference Day October 27th: Wear Slippers to School October 28th: Favorite Crazy Hat Day October 29th: Crazy Sock Day October 30th: Wear Neon Colors Day October 31st: Dress up as favorite story book character, but remember you MUST bring the book with you that your character is in. * n “ n * A Note from Your Teacher: This Friday is parent conference day. Please ensure that you have scheduled a time. It is very important that I meet with each parent to discuss their child’s independent needs, growths, struggles, and triumphs. Please continue to make sure that your child completes their homework packet by Friday. I grade them every Friday and place them back inside their take home folder.
