  1. iDesign: Blacklight Energy Danielle Marciniak Lojy Kamel Eric Ruzalski Kristine Cabrera Mike Andreuccetti John Dewinski Shannon Sebestin Preston Potas Leo Przybylowski Alex Krueger Meera Patel Nathan Kosinski

  2. Background on Blacklight energy Water is broken up into hydrogen and oxygen ions Oxygen is released and a dissociator is added to split each hydrogen ion into a hydrogen atom. (1)‏

  3. Background cont. 3. A catalyst reacts with hydrogen to release energy. The energy from the hydrogen is transferred to the catalyst. The hydrogen shrinks (hydrino) and releases an ultra-violet light. (1)‏ A fuel cell

  4. Background cont. 4. Disproportion: The smaller hydrogen atom is further split to produce two smaller hydrogen atoms. 5. By-products: Purple plasma, heat, ultra-violet light, no harmful waste or emissions

  5. Uses of Energy Produced • Energy given off in heat form • Can build substantial pressure • Turn turbine for an engine or generator

  6. Uses cont. • Hydrinos (smaller Hydrogen atoms) used with other elements and compounds: • With inorganic elements: Conductive and magnetic plastics • With oxygenated matter: Batteries the size of a briefcase to charge your car going highway speeds (55 mph) for 1000 miles. All on one charge and no gasoline. • With acid: Powerful explosives and rocket propellants. • With metal compounds: Strong coatings that prevent ships from rusting

  7. Roles in the Group Leader Eric Secretary Kristine Organizer Lojy Design Consultant Danielle Timekeeper Leo Treasurer John CAD Drawers Alex Preston Resources Mike Documenter Shannon Storyboard Meera Nathan

  8. Timeline • Important Dates: • Group meetings at least once a month • March 5: Start building model • April 12: Phase II Completed

  9. Exhibit Ideas Major components Movie theatre Sits at least 30 people Auditorium style Big, white screen Movie theatre exit room Dark with purple lights Info on walls – process, benefits, future plans Interactive stations Game room At least 3 – 4 stations Use info from movie/ walls Touch screens Win glow sticks, vouchers for items in gift shop Gift shop Glow sticks Apparel Stickers Glow-in-the-dark items Pictures Waiting area Fun facts Pictures Video screens Small toys – things to touch Lower things on walls – for children to reach

  10. Exhibit Ideas cont. Floor Clear “Glowing” purple liquid beneath Flashing lights Imagine walking on “plasma” Walls Intricate weave of tubing Tubes filled with “glowing” liquid Purple hue Tubing around info Light Source Black lights Purple accents Floor lighting Mostly dark ‏ Room Plan Square Round Long corridor Hexagon

  11. Ideas for Model • Miniature people to represent visitors • Light wood for the walls • Small wooden/ plastic stations • Plexiglas for floor • Vellum (Transparent, strong paper) for movie screen • Flexible plastic tubing • Purple accents

  12. Pictures of model • A few of the items that will be used to build model with.

  13. Hand Sketches

  14. Sketches cont.

  15. Questions asked by the iDesign Judges • Largely unproven idea - Why did you select it over more proven concepts related to wind, solar, biofuels, hydrogen, etc? • It was a unique idea • Nobody is very familiar • Nobody has heard much about it before • Heighten people's interest • Need more research to establish the significance of Blacklight Power as important part of a long-term energy strategy. • Designate every member needs to research more • Combine research • Give to one person • Flash Drive • Binder – Hard copy

  16. Judges’ Questions cont. • Discuss how Blacklight Power could make a significant contribution to creating a sustainable energy future. • If proven correct – create a “perpetual motion” energy source • Could power up many things • Good, steady, and unlimited energy source • Potentially, no harmful emissions or wastes • Uses water – both fresh and salt • House or commercial use

  17. Judges’ Questions cont... • Further explore benefits of Blacklight Power in relation to other alternative energy sources • No emissions or harmful waste • Only uses water • New and innovative • Select a single idea from exhibit concept and develop it further- audience? how would you present it? what makes it exciting/educational? • Our audience: Mainly adults and young adults • Game room/ Glow-sticks: To get children's attention • Lighting/ mood of overall room • Educational video

  18. Judges’ Questions cont. • Write a brief statement to support idea- main story line, how does story unfold, what will hold audience's interest, how does story end? • Waiting area – quick facts about Blacklight • Brief 10 minute movie - ideas behind Blacklight power • Exit theater • In a dark room with purple lighting • Walls with information • Game room to win items using information from exhibit • Gift shop • Exit
