  1. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Borai - Durg (C.G.) Welcomes You

  2. A Presentation On Structure & Function of Human Heart

  3. D E V E L O P E D B Y D R. U. P. P A N I P G T B I O L O G Y J N V B O R A I , D U R G ( C. G. )

  4. Arch of Aorta Superior Venacava Right Pulmonary artery Left Pulmonary artery Right Atrium Left Atrium Right Coronary Aetery Pulmonary Trunk Left Ventricle Coronary sulcus Anterior Interventricular sulcus Right Ventricle Inferior Venacava

  5. HUMAN HEART ORIGIN – MESODERMAL ORIGIN POSITION-BEHIND THE STERNUM & BETWEEN THE LUNGS IN THE THORASIC SHAPE- LOOKS LIKE A BLUNT CONE ENCLOSED IN PERICARDIUM, PERICARDIAL FLUID FILLED IN PERICARDIAL CAVITY.

  6. STRUCTURE OF HUMAN HEART HUMAN HEART CONSISTS OF FOUR CHAMBERS: TWO UPPER THIN LAYERED ATRIA TWO LOWER THICK LAYERED VENTRICLES HEART BEARS 3 GROOVES OR SULCI – CORONARY SULCUS (BETWEEN ATRIA &VENTRICLES) ANTERIOR INTERVENTRICULAR SULCUS POSTERIOR INTERVENTRICULAR SULCUS

  7. RIGHT & LEFT ATRIA SEPARATED BY INTER ATRIAL SEPTUM TWO VENTRICLES ARE SEPARATED BY INTERVENTRICULAR SEPTUM ATRIA OPENS INTO THEIR RESPECTIVE VENTRICLES THROUGH AURICULOVENTRICULAR APERTURE GUARDED BY TRICUSPID VALVE & BICUSPID VALVE. RIGHT AURICLE RECEIVES DEOXYGENATED BLOOD BY SUPERIOR VENA CAVA,INFERIOR VENA CAVA & CORONARY SINUS FROM WALL OF HEART LEFT ARICLE RECEIVES OXYGENATED BLOOD FROM LUNGS FOUR PULMONARY VEINS.

  8. ORIGIN AND CONDUCTION OF HEART BEAT 1. SA-NODE (SINO-ATRIAL NODE)-CALLED PACEMAKER AS IT IS FIRST TO ORIGINATE THE CARDIAC IMPULSES & DETERMINES THE RATE OF HEART BEAT. CARDIAC IMPULSES CONDUCTED ALONG THE TRACT OF SPECIAL CARDIAC MUSCLE FIBRES OVER BOTH THE AURICLES. 2. AV-NODE(ATRIO-VENTRICULAR NODE)- IT IS STIMULATED BY THE WAVES OF CONTRACTION INITIATED BY SA-NODE. IT GENERATES CARDIAC IMPULSES, WHICH ARE CONDUCTED TO THE MUSCLES OF VENTRICLES THROUGH BUNDLE OF HIS & PURKINJE FIBRES. 3. BUNDLE OF HIS 4. PURKINJE FIBRES

  9. CARDIAC CYCLE CARDIAC CYCLE INVOLVES , THE PHASE OF CONTRACTION CALLED SYSTOLE & THE PHASE OF RELAXATION CALLED DIASTOLE. A COMPLETE HEART BEAT CONSISTS OF A SYSTOLE & DIASTOLE OF BOTH ATRIA AND THAT OF BOTH THE VENTRICLES.

  10. THE CARDIAC CYCLE INVOLVES FOLLOWING STEPS :- 1. ATRIAL SYSTOLE – CONTRACTION OF ATRIA 2. VENTRICULAR FILLING 3. VENTRICULAR SYSTOLE – FIRST HEART SOUND ‘LUBB’ PRODUCED WITH LONGER DURATION (0.16 – 0.90 SEC.). 4. VENTRICULAR DIASTOLE – SECOND HEART SOUND ‘DUBB’WITH SHORTER DURATION (0.10 SEC.)
