  1. The Martian colony of Athix By Emily, James, Gavin, and Allison

  2. Type of government Our government is an autocracy and is ruled by a Martian known as The Man. The Man is able to choose his own cabinet of advisors and a successor. The Man makes all the decisions for the colony, but he gets advice from his successor and cabinet before making his final decision.

  3. How will our government distribute jobs? • Jobs are on a first come first serve basis. • The government will decide which jobs are available for Martians to have.

  4. How will shelters be built and food gathered? • Construction workers are responsible for building every building in the colony and are paid by the government to do this. • Food is grown inside greenhouses and there will also be some indoor farming. However packaged foods, such as chips and cereal, will be sent over from earth.

  5. Health Care • Athix will have all the necessary health care offices such as hospitals, eye doctors, etc. • All visits to the doctor are free, but scheduled checkups are $20 per person. • The amount of money you pay for a surgery will just depend on the seriousness of it.

  6. Police and Military • There will be a police force within the colony to enforce laws and help maintain the peace. • There will also be a group of an elite police force who will handle bigger situations.

  7. Major Laws • Murder- punishable by death • Possession of weapons- punishable by death • Drinking under the age of 15- Beaten • Disturbing the peace- punishable by death • Black marketing goods- punishable by death • Speaking negatively about The Man- smacked upside the head • Importing illegal drugs from somewhere in the universe- punishable by death • Plotting to overthrow the man- beaten to the point of death and then tossed into space

  8. Resolution of Disputes Martians need to settle disputes on their own because if you go to the authorities you will be killed.
