    26. New GCMD XML Authoring Tool for ISO 19115 Object-oriented design - allowing code reuse. Java/Jython implementation - offering platform independence and maintenance reduction. XML support - promoting extensibility and standardized information exchange. Multiple versions - supporting diverse users and environments through both Web and stand-alone applications. MD8 Integration - providing additional functionality through distributed database operations. Multi-document support - increasing flexibility and permitting the building of any type of document (DIF, SERF, FGDC, ANZLIC, ISO, etc.) Customization capabilities - strengthening integration with portals. Stand-alone or new Web-based tool.
