  1. Captain Clean and The Giant Germ Gang By Sandra Pohl

  2. It was a lazy Saturday afternoon, and Captain Clean was lounging in his living room. Suddenly he received an urgent message on his radio transponder*. “Captain Clean! Snot and the rest of the Giant Germ Gang have escaped and are on the loose! We need you to capture the gang and prevent* them from spreading!” * Definition & pronunciation for these words can be found at the end of the book

  3. Immediately Captain Clean grabbed his cape and set out to find the Giant Germ Gang. He knew that if these germs spread they could make many people sick. The fate of the world was in his hands.

  4. He decided to start his search on the playground of the local elementary school. He knew that was a favorite hang out for the Germ Gang. “There they are!” He spotted them on the slide! Oh no, a little boy was about to slide down!” It was too late, the germs transmitted* themselves onto the little boy’s hand!

  5. Captain Clean tried to quickly make his way towards the little boy to warn him, but he did not make it in time. The bell rang and the little boy was already back in his classroom.

  6. Captain Clean was upset, he knew that the germs were beginning to spread. They had already been transmitted by touch, what was next?!

  7. Meanwhile, the little boy had ventured back to his class and was working on literacy cycles with his reading buddy. As they were reading the germs spread through the air and were transmitted once again! Captain Clean burst into the classroom just a little too late, he witnessed* the transmission first hand!

  8. Wait… Stop! He tried to warn the children, but the Germ Gang was once again saved by the bell. All the children left school and made their way home, including the little girl who had just been infected* by the Germ Gang. Captain Clean would have to track her down in order to stop the Gang.

  9. That evening the little girl began to feel sick. She was coughing all night long. She even coughed on her little sister. The Giant Germ Gang was spreading rapidly.

  10. Captain Clean found the little girl’s house! He made his way into the room only to find that the Germ Gang had already transmitted themselves to the little sister through coughing! This was a horrible finding for Captain Clean, but he had them cornered now! The Germ Gang was trembling in their own slime!

  11. Captain Clean captured Snot and the rest of the Giant Germ Gang. He forever stopped them from spreading with the use of soap.

  12. Captain Clean explained to the kids that stopping yucky germs from spreading is easy! Washing your hands with soap and warm water is the best way to prevent germs from making you sick!
