  4. Homework Homework will be completed in a homework book again this year. We expect the same standard as would be expected in school. Please follow the presentation guidance in the book. If the work is not up to standard children will be asked to re-write in their own time. Children should be given a sensible amount of time to complete their homework - we are after quality rather than quantity. This year there will only be a focus of spellings, with sentences, times tables and reading 3 times a week. Spellings: Lists handed out on Friday LCSWC Spelling test on Friday Homework book: Given out on Friday Hand in on Wednesday If a child is struggling with any aspect of the homework please contact the class teacher or send them back in with their homework.

Reading In school: Guided reading in groups Individual readers Library books following the book lists (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum) At home: Reading Diary Aim to read with your child or question them on the text 3 times a week and sign and record in their reading diary Reading comprehensions Across school and home a wide variety of genres and media should be covered and to read for pleasure

  6. School website Dates, newsletters, updates, celebration of work and other information including medium term plans. Please tell us if you do not give permission for your child’s photo to be taken during school activities Class Dojo- reward system and also allows messages and photos to be sent and shared- you will receive a note inviting you to sign up, and this will include a unique code for you to use.   7. Your child will need Pencil case – to fit in a tray and include a pencil, 30cm ruler and rubber, thin whiteboard pen. PE kit – indoor and outdoor. New coloured shirts ordered from office. Book bag- please NO large rucksacks. Water bottle. Blue fibre tip pen (Berol handwriting bought from school shop) or Lamy pen if approved by teacher. Everything should be named! A reminder list is given out each term.
