What is Electromagnetic Induction? • EMI is revolutionary discovery that changed the way we live. • In 1820 Oersted accidentally discovered that electric currents in wires produce magnetic field around them. • Does the presence of the magnetic field induce current in the wire? • In 1831 Michael Faraday experimentally discovered the relationship between electricity and magnetic fields. • Based on this principle generation of AC current is made possible.

Faraday’s Law of Induction • Faraday’s Law of Electromagnetic induction states that induced Emf in the loop is equal to the rate of change at which the magnetic flux is changing with time. • The Magnetic Flux that are penetrating through an area A is defined to be Internet demonstration of AC generator and DC electromotor
