  6. What is Government? • Government- People who set rules and laws and enforces them.

  7. What are the Three Levels of Government? • Local • State • National

  8. Local Government • A local government is a body that leads a community or town. • Who leads the our local government? • The Mayor is the leader of a community or town • Works in City Hall • Mt. Zion Georgia Leader is Mayor John Griffin • Roles: Firefighter, Police Officers, Nurses, Teachers, Signs and enforces rules and laws for a community

  9. State Government • The state government is in charge of the state you live in. • Who leads the state? • The Governor- the Governor of Georgia is Nathan Deal • The Governor works at the state capitol • Roles: Help run schools, Signs and Enforces laws, They help take care of our environment.

  10. National Government • Leader of our Nation (The United States) • Who is our Nation’s leader? • The President Barrack Obama • Works at the White House • Roles: Leader of Armed Forces, Post Offices, Makes Friends with other countries, Signs and enforces laws
