  3. MUSICAL STYLES • The kinds of music you like reveal something about who you are • As humans, we can like more than one type of music • Music style refers to • The distinct manner or character of musical expression

  4. MUSICAL STYLE MATCHING • Direction – Number your paper from one to twenty and match the music with its style. Write the letter and the name on your paper. • American folk song k.   6. COMPARE MUSICAL STYLES • Directions : Listen to the two musical selections, one from classical and the other from jazz. Write the similarities and differences you hear on a sheet of paper. • Classical – Allegro movement from Concerto in D Major for Trumpet and Orchestra by Michael Haydn • Jazz – “You’d Be So Nice to Come Home To” by Cole Porter (performed by Ella Fitzgerald)
