  2. Glocal Glocalisation (or glocalization) is a portmanteau of globalization and localization. By definition, the term “glocal” refers to the individual, group, division, unit, organization, and community which is willing and is able to “think globally and act locally.”

  3. Going Glocal Global Studies on a Budget Given: We live in an interconnected world and our livelihoods and our national security depend on how well we can work collaboratively across cultures. The World is Flat and Here to Stay Vast opportunities to connect to others through technology. This means: Jobs (NC is the 10th largest state for receiving direct foreign investment) Better Informed Citizenry on Global Issues & Perspectives

School Mission Teaching Students Global Knowledge – A Mode of Thinking Global Skills Global Character • Knowledge of history and international relations • Knowledge of current events and key global challenges • An understanding of other cultural perspectives • An ability to speak a foreign language • An ability to work collaboratively across cultures and solve problems • Competence in traveling and getting along in other cultures Global Citizenship – Stewardship  Protecting the environment  Global health  Poverty  Access to education
