Smarter Cities: Driving Prosperity through Leadership and Innovation

IBM is leading a global discussion with city leaders in Shanghai, New York, and Berlin. Over the next 3 years, 100 cities will benefit from the Smarter Cities Challenge. Australian cities cost commuters and the nation $9.4 billion, with one in five Melbourne commuters feeling negatively affected by their daily commute. IBM's Global Commuter Pain Survey reveals that we can collect information from almost everything, making cities smarter and more efficient. Smarter cities involve smart buildings, connected healthcare, integrated transport systems, and citizen engagement through open data and social media.
