  2. Final tally = 137 Comparable to previous IF Proportion of ideas submitted under each topic also similar Contributions from collaborators: 27% up from FY07 Domestic, international contributions ITER Organization 28% of submissions were from students M.L. Reinke: 10% Proposals were organized into sessions (mostly) according to theme, and tagged with their author-identified topics Many valuable proposals were generated by this meeting Slide 2 of ?

  3. Proposals were submitted under a long-standing topical categorization Slide 3 of ?

  4. Is this the best task force arrangement? • Run campaigns driven in large part by high-level programmatic milestones • FY08 JOULE milestone influenced creation of a “thrust” on Rotation and Momentum Transport • Helpful in focusing effort in this area, optimizing run time and effort • Consider similarly motivated branching for the upcoming campaigns, based on joint facility milestones • FY09: Particle control and hydrogenic fuel retention • FY10: SOL heat transport • FY11: Pedestal predictive capability (joint facility/theory) • Other ideas for categorization? 5. Ideas Forum Initial run-time allocations Topical and thrust groups (e.g. Transport) Optional “sub-topical” groups: (e.g. H-modes, ITBs) Prioritization + consolidation of similar proposals to the EPC Where do we go from here? • Remainder of April: Task Forces evaluate proposals to define priorities • New Ideas presented here • Ideas presented at previous Fora • Existing mini-proposals • Task force leaders will call open meetings for discussions • Videoconferencing should be available for collaborators • Ideas Forum e-mail list can be used for announcing these meetings (all current participants have been added) Slide 5 of ?
