  1. Proof Of Concept Simplify Your Life. Google Workshop Semester B 2011 Shiran Chityat, Alon Dener, Moti Berger, Tomer Keshet

  2. Our New Plan • Instead of developing a brand new application, we based our code on Astrid. • Astrid is an Open Source ,popular task managing application. • We had contacted the developers of Astrid, who advised us to use Git, a code sharing mechanism, to “fork” the main Astrid code and start working from there. • With some luck, AroundRoid may be united with Astrid someday..

  3. Our Live Demo… • Let the fun begin!

  4. Our Progress • Work assignment: • Basic Astrid Integration, GIT setup: TomerKeshet • Using Google Maps, GPS: Moti Berger • Location Service, Notifications: AlonDener, ShiranChityat • The Difficult Things: • Understanding Astrid code and project setup. • Learning Android application development

  5. Our Features • Using Astrid tag system for storing location-type task information. • Android service for displaying notifications when user is near a task-type-location. • Dynamic Google Map view, displaying the user’s current location and nearby task-type-locations.

  6. Our Road Map • Milestone 2: • Specific location based task feature (4 days) • Improved notification management (3 days) • People based task - Google Latitude API (7 days) • Better integration with Astrid (ongoing) • Milestone 3: • Car detection -dynamic notification radius (4 days) • Share a task ( 10 days) • Error handling (7 days) • Better integration with Astrid(ongoing)
