  2. Australia enjoys a world class healthcare system and this is not possible without the effort of passionate healthcare professionals. Health Services Union or HSU is a union dedicated to the welfare of health professionals, aged care workers and allied health workers who sweat hard and are the backbone of Australia’s health system. HSU Members enjoy a host of benefits including journey insurance, bereavement benefits of $10,000 as well as free legal services. As part of the Journey Insurance, every HSU member is offered support in case he/she is injured or faces a loss of income due to an accident on the way to or from work. The insurance offers HSU members up to 85% of their weekly wage or a max of $1500 every week.

  3. HSU has initiated several campaigns in the interest of health professionals. These campaigns aim at safeguarding the rights of health workers and letting people know about the contributions of the allied health workers. Ambulance Paramedics is a campaign dedicated to increasing number of paramedics which has not gone up in pace with the population growth over the last decade.

  4. The health services union or HSU makes sure that all those who work hard for the aged are represented well. The union actively contacts aged care websites where agreements have or are about to expire. Aged care workers enjoy an array of benefits as part of the HSU.
