  2. PODCASTS! Podcasts are an audio broadcast which has been converted to an mp3 file for playback in a digital music player. Podcast can be solicited to only subscribers. They can be sent to your mobile phone or your computer. They are a way to get information out to people, kind of like a radiostation.

  3. WIKIS! Wikis are a collection of webpage's designed to enable anyone with access to contribute or modify content, using a simplified mark up language. Wiki’s are used in business to provide intranet and knowledge management systems. In web page design we all made an account for Mrs. Stanek’s wiki to do web quests. Wiki’s are fairly easy, but unnecessary in my opinion unless you are doing a group project of some sort.

  4. BLOGS Blogs are something you can write your thoughts in, kind of like a journal. The technical definition is, an online diary; a personal chronological log of thoughts published on a Web page; also called Weblog or Web log. From personal experience, I use blogs on MySpace all the time. I use them to vent and let people know how I feel.

  5. Web Quests A web quest is like a test, but on the internet. It is when you are given a task, but instead of using books to find the answer you use the internet. This semester we had to do two web quests on the wiki for a grade. Some of these web quests are difficult because it is hard to trust some websites.

  6. Web Templates A web template is a site that provides the web pages already made for you. It is easier because you don’t have to use HTML and spend days upon days making a site. The templates are made for you, you get to pick your color fonts, what fonts you want to use, you can insert pictures and videos. In webpage design we used web templates to describe our future careers that we would like to peruse.

  7. Google Docs A Google doc is a free web-based word processor and spreadsheet which allows you to share and collaborate online. You can edit it anytime, pick who can access your documents, share changes in real time, files are stored securely online, and it’s free.

  8. SOCIAL BOOKMARKING Social bookmarking is a method for internet users to store, organize, search and manage bookmarks of web pages on the internet. This helps you know sites you have visited and that you would like to revisit when you are not at your home computer. It is a memory device basically that you can reach at any computer.
