  12. Observation Assignment – Due on Wed Sept. 21st. Between now and next Wednesday, I need you to go outside between 8:00 PM and 8:45 PM and look to the west (towards Disney - the direction the sun sets). It should be dark and you should be able to make out a few stars (10 -15). 1) Create a sketch of what you see. (Your drawing needs to be on graph paper and should be no bigger than a sheet in a composition notebook (5.5 x 8.5 inches with the long side being the horizon) IT NEEDS TO BE IN A NOTEBOOK! (Comp book preferred.) Please make sure you include your last drawing in your notebook. 2) Indicate the horizon (bottom of the sheet) and with the top side of the sheet being about two handspans (About 50 degrees of sky). Draw in dots to indicate the planets and stars. Make sure your marks indicate the color and how bright the objects are (bigger dots for brighter objects) 3) INDICATE: time, Date, location, and a key (large stars, medium stars and small stars.) Indicate star color. 4) Be as close to scale as possible!.

  13. Observation Assignment – Due on Wed Sept. 20th. NOTE: You will repeat this assignment, in the exact place, exact time, two weeks later.
