Goals and Objectives of Skate-A-Thon • Goals: • To raise money for Pathways to Wholeness to further assist target population(women in transitional homes/shelters) • Raise between 2,000-$4,000 for a mixture of supplies and fundamental items for the company • Individuals/organizations will purchase a pledge upon entrance of the skating center • Provided a list of surrounding activity features and the fundraising after pledge purchase(list will be developed)

Getting Started • Present to local skating center for reservation of event/possible donated space during unscheduled time of events/promising exposure of business in local newspaper, agency website, and local radio station(Kiss FM) • Make Public flyers(flyer will be developed) • designed by participants of Pathways to Wholeness • Location of event and address • Name and purpose of event • Contact number for further information and agency website • State volunteer opportunities and sponsoring opportunities • Cost of pledges • List of other activities and costs • Donation opportunities of supplies • Display flyers in areas of target sponsors/public places(grocery stores, churches, local organizations, summer camp facilities, and agency website) • Radio Exposure of event(Kiss FM) ( stating event purpose, location of event, number of contact for further information, pledge costs) • Contact surrounding stores and community for prize and equipment donations

Selecting Participants • Flyer responses • Individuals and organizations use contact information and receive information of volunteer openings and expectations, such as booth assistance, more community exposure, supply donations, and pledge costs • Present volunteer opportunities to current “Pathways to Wholeness” participants, graduates, colleagues, family, friends, community involvement • Presentation of event, presenting cause, pledge cost, and expectations of event • Volunteer opportunities include; running booths, assist with decoration set-up, assist with advertisement, hanging flyers, and assist with donation collection for event

Fundraising Activities • Participants get sponsors and individuals to pledge for the hours or laps that they skate upon entry(will serve as part entrance fee and pledge(Pledge form and will be developed and ). • $11 pledge/entrance fee(skate rental) • $20 for fundraising packet(surrounding booth access, raffle, and skate rental) • Participant given all access bracelet to show to booths and raffle volunteer/one time only participation at booths , raffle, • Volunteers will mark booth number on bracelets with permanent marker to keep track of participants(booths numbered and raffle marked with R) • Participant Raffle(purchase ticket to win prize and presented upon entry) • Volunteers will continue to advertise raffle throughout the event and announce winning number at the end of event • “Count on You”(participants guess how many of selected items are in the jar to win the jar or selected prizes • “Treasure Chest”-Sale donated keys to the lock on the chest, filled with donated prizes, who chooses the right key wins the chest

  6. Fundraiser Summary of Steps • Present to Christiana Skating Rink(302-366-0473/Address: 801 Christiana Rd. Newark, De. 19711) • Present to Surrounding Support, local organizations, agency participations and graduates, of cause and fundraising goal (2-$4,000) • Develop flyers and pledge forms with assistance of volunteers/current participants and graduates of program • Present information of event to responding volunteers of expectations and diverse tasks at the event • Have event with choices of entrance packages and list of activities upon entry • Present participants with list of upcoming events and provide thank you cards and gift bags of participants

  7. Giving Thanks • Newspaper exposure of sponsors • Certificates • Thank you cards and/or gift bags

  8. Save the Date • End event with inviting sponsors to scheduled fundraising events/future events • Provide written documentation with dates of upcoming events and location of how to donate to agency
