  1. The 5 DON'Ts For A Successful Influencer Marketing Strategy

  2. INTRODUCTION Within the ever-changing world of social media, brands are embracing influencer marketing as the latest and greatest tactic to building brand awareness and promoting social media engagement.  Today, influencer marketing has proven an extremely viable marketing and advertising strategy for many brands. But, a successful influencer marketing strategy depends on a number of factors. Here are a few DON'Ts of having a successful influencer marketing strategy.

  3. Don't only consider macro influencers Although big-name influencers may seem like the best way for product promotion,  the engagement that comes with larger influencers is often lower in comparison to their micro level influencers. The key here is to balance. After all, macro influencers do come with a high pricetag.

  4. Don't focus only on numbers While the size of the following and rates of engagement among the influencer's audience is important; looking past the numbers and finding influencers that produce high-quality content and fit your brand is what will lead to more success. So, focus on quality first and then prioritize the numbers.

  5. Don’t just work for brand awareness With the rising cost of influencer marketing, it's important that influencers work to promote your brand or product in a specific way. Some brands simply use influencers for brand awareness. While doing this can be helpful, it's also difficult to track and can lead to low ROI campaigns.

  6. Don’t Allow influencers to be vague about getting paid for a video or post Many influencers did not disclose to their followers that they were being paid to share a post on a product; the guidelines have since changed. This may seem simple but in order to avoid any legal troubles, it is imperative to maintain authenticity and avoid fines or penalties by admitting it's a paid promotional post or video.

  7. Don’t just use Instagram when working with influencers While Instagram is the leading platform for influencers today, trends and preferences are constantly changing. That is why many marketers find it helpful to use many different social media platforms to promote their brand. Finding influencers that use different media platforms is often more effective.

  8. Conclusion With anything in marketing, it's important to have patience. Influencer marketing is a proven marketing strategy that works for sure in the long run, however, it is essential to understand that one post may not suffice. And then finding the right influencer also matters a LOT. Hope you find the tips handy for your purpose.
