  4. Placing students in across stage classes or composite classes • When placing students into classes we look at a combination of factors, which include – • friendship groups • whether the child is an independent worker • ratio of boys and girls • sometimes it is appropriate to separate students to maximise learning outcomes for both students

  7. Some of our areas of concern Play Equipment – children only under the direct supervision of their parent can play on the equipment after school. Students whose parents are late picking them up stay with the teacher on gate duty from 3pm until approx 3.15pm. If the parent has not arrived by then they will come to the admin foyer and sit there until the parent arrives. We very much appreciate it when we get calls from the parent to say they will be late and it reassures the child that they know their parent is on their way. While we understand that some parents need to drop their children to school before 8.30 am for work commitments, staff are not on duty until 8.30am so children must sit on verandah seats until 8.30 Late arrivals – please do your best to get children to school before the assembly bell as a late arriver not misses out on important learning time, the class and the teacher are distracted

  8. Some of our areas of concern Medications / medical plans Please make sure that if medication needs to be given to your child at school that you present it to Mrs Lamey and fill out the medication form Also, if your child has a medical plan in place e.g. an asthma plan, please make sure we are given up to date copies so that we can ensure that we are able to follow that plan, if the need arises Contact numbers Please keep us up to date with emergency contact numbers and emergency contacts so we can get in contact with you quickly, if necessary.

  9. Dropping off and picking up students

  10. Mathletics The school has continued its subscription of the web-based Mathleticsand all students should have 24/7 access at home. The students can use the activities to review and enhance their knowledge of concepts taught in the classroom. Mathletics has a tutor system built in so that if a student (or parent) has trouble with a concept they can click on the help button to review what is required to answer the question.
