  1. Corot exoplanet science team Exoplanet WG & Exoplanet Complementary Observations WG Internal organization of the Exoplanet group Goal: • A new organization aims at maximizing the efficiency and the scientific return on the CoRoT/exoplanet program • Corot CoIs who express their will being involved in the planet search (Exo-CoIs??) and associated scientists work as a group sharing information and results on the light curve analyses • The follow-up observations are part of the exoplanet business and the natural complement of the CoRoT data analysis.

  2. Transit candidate identification 1 contact person/team 1 instrument expert 1 task coordinator Photometric observations 1 contact person/facility 1 task coordinator Observe targets according to ranking - reduce and analyze data Radial velocity measurements 1 contact p erson/facility 1 task coordinator Observe targets according to ranking - reduce and analyze data Stellar population 1 contact person/team 1 task coordinator Observe targets (if necessary)- reduce and analyze data Space-based observations 1 contact person/team 1 task coordinator Observe targets (if necessary) - reduce and analyze data Tasks Deliveries Corot Exoplanet Science Team • - target list - transit parameters - ranking • ∆m of all stars within the PSF of each targets • - ∆V,  < 100 m/s - mass of the planet • - Stellar fundamental parameters & physical properties - radius & mass of the planet (if any) • - Planet further characterization

CoRoT Exoplanet Science team Planet candidates Transit parameters Contamination ranking ∆m of all stars Within the PSF of each target ∆V, s < 100 m/s mass of the planet Stellar physical parameters radius Detection & analysis group Transit candidates identification DB Photometric observations Radial velocity measurements Data manager Stars’ parameters Space-based observations

  5. Task : - scientific evaluation of the DB --> identification of potential publications - set up the list of priorities for follow-up observations - assessment of the follow-up performances - identification of potential problems in follow-up tasks Duty : regular meetings (monthly?) regular reports to the CEST (TBD) Members : the coordinators of task + data manager but open to CEST members Status : task internal organization - in discussion - finalized by october 2006 Task members - free will - people identify the task(s) they are ready to contribute Contact with the additional programs activities on the exo channel data desirable Exoplanet detection & analysis & group
