  1. CUMMINSQUALITYMANAGEMENT SYSTEMReports & Charts Training

  2. Welcome to the Cummins Quality Management System (CQMS) – Reports and Charts Training. In this modulewe will review the reporting and analysis capabilities that CQMS offers. CQMS uses a third party application called MetricStream to record and manage material non-conformances (MNCs) and process non-conformances (PNCs) as well as corrective action requests (CARs) and supplier corrective action requests (SCARs). All of the CQMS data will be stored in a single Oracle database instance for anyone to access if they have the appropriate account permissions. In other words, users in CQMS can only see the data they have access to.

  3. CQMS Tabular Reports CQMS Reports will display data in either a tabular style or form style. The MNC Issue Status Report is a sample of a tabular style showing several columns of information pertaining to each MNC (row). Tabular style reports show a summarized view of the data. Note: In most tabular reports, CQMS offers drilldown capabilities to form style reports to show further details on a specific Issue ID. Note: In most tabular reports, CQMS offers drilldown capabilities to form style reports to show further details on a specific Issue ID.

  4. CQMS Form Reports The MNC Issue Details Report is a sample of a form style report which shows all the details collected on a single MNC. The Form style reports show the data as a completed form and is helpful to view all the details of a single Issue ID.

  5. CQMS Charts CQMS Charts are the visual representation of the data. The term Dashboard is a common term in CQMS that is a group of one or more charts. A Dashboard such as the MNC Work Activity by Month Dashboard shown here has several charts to represent all of the MNC activity by month in your organization. CQMS Supports the following Chart Types: • Bar • Area • Line • 3D Bar • Stacking Bar • 3D Stacking Bar

  6. Accessing Reports Upon logging into CQMS, a user can see and run any reports and charts from the My Reports & Charts tab. All reports are available to all CQMS users but only the data that the user has access to can be viewed. For example Supplier Contacts can only view their supplier specific data. The My Reports & Charts tab has 4 Sections: • MNC/PNC Reports • CAR/SCAR/PAR Reports • MNC/PNC Dashboards • CAR/SCAR/PAR Dashboards

  7. There are two additional Tabs – Dashboards and Reports that are used for detailed custom report writing. These tabs are useful for creating custom reports and charts once you feel comfortable with the MetricStream Application. Note: Custom reports and charts will have limited support so please be familiar with the application before going into this advanced feature. Accessing Reports

  8. Accessing Reports Reports shown on the My Reports & Charts may also be available as report links on some of the data entry forms. These report links are called InlineReports. When a report link is available, the user can click on the link to run the report in a separate window and view more information. For example, the Action Type History Report is available as an inline report on the MRB Review Form as shown below.

  9. Many of the reports and charts in CQMS will offer one or more search parameters to allow the user the ability to filter data. If a report or chart has one or more search parameters defined, the “Key field Values” window pops up when selecting a report link. Search Parameters

  10. Search Parameters If a report contains search parameters - the user can select values from the pop-up window. In the pop-up, values can be quickly found by using the Search for Value: field and the wildcard, “%”. Note: Required Parameter values from an Inline Report will automatically be passed in through the system.

  11. Search Parameters Required search parameters are marked with a red asterix *. In the PNC Issue Status Report, the Issue ID is a required search parameter. Once you click on the pop-up icon, the Issue ID List of values opens. Click on the button to select a single Issue ID and then click on the Select button to populate the value in the field.

  12. Running a Form Style Report Once the Submit button is clicked the report will run and return the data that meets the search criteria specified. Here is an example of a PNC Issue Details Report. This is a form style report displaying all the details recorded for a single PNC. The report window can be closed by clicking on the Done button. The report can be printed by clicking on the Print button.

  13. Running a Tab Style Report Here is an example of a MNC Issue Status Report. This is a tabular style report displaying all the details based on the search criteria selected.

  14. Drill Downs CQMS supports drill downs on most reports and charts allowing the user to further drill into the details of a issue. All drill downs will appear as a hyperlink and you can drill down from a report to another report, or a chart to a chart or a chart to a report. Here is an example of a drill down from the MNC Issue Status to a specific MNC Issue Details.

  15. Drill Downs Drill Downs on Charts will appear a little different. The drilldown will be for a selected point or bar for example and only show that data. Not the entire chart data. To know if a chart has drilldown options, hold the mouse over the data points and see if the pointer becomes a hand. If there is a hand, there is a drilldown behind the chart and click on the datapoint.

  16. Additional Reporting Tips The Run Again button will close the report window and return the user back to the default search parameters.

  17. Additional Reporting Tips When a report link is clicked, CQMS may switch to the Reports tab to run the report. Click on the My Reports & Charts to return to the reporting area.

  18. Summary CQMS supports both tabular and form style reporting as well as graphical data analysis. CQMS Users can access all reports and charts on the My Report & Charts tab but only view the data they have access to. All tabular data can be exported to excel and made available for other reporting tools if necessary. All charts that involve time are based on the Cummins Accounting Calendar.
