  1. Placido’s Post September 12, 2013 What’s New in Third Grade? Next Wednesday, September 18th is our district’s high attendance day! Please make every effort to be at school all day that day! Wear your craziest socks and if our class has 100% attendance we will be able to enjoy our learning time without our shoes! What We’re Learning Upcoming Dates Reading – Retelling stories using details and finding the message or moral in fables. Science– Using the scientific method to conduct experiments. Word Work – Words beginning with Consonant Blends Writing– Using a story tellers voice in our writing. Math – Using what we know about multiplication to find the area of figures. 9/17 – HOPE assembly cancelled due to gym construction 9/23- PTO Meeting, 5pm, in the library 9/23-9/27 – Book Fair 9/25 – Early Release Day 9/26 – Pony Round Up 5pm-7pm 10/8- Hispanic Heritage Night- Red Oak Elementary 10/14 -10/18 – Fall Break 10/23 – Picture Day Reminders! Please save your boxtops! We are having a school wide competition and the classroom that collects the most will win a pizza party! Boxtops will be due October 25th in order to go toward this incentive!
