Goal • Mc Kinsey report project India’s electronics manufacturing opportunities to be US $ 47 billion (Rs.220,900 crores) by 2009. • Andhra Pradesh wishes to build a US $ 12 billion(Rs.56,400 crores) IT Hardware and Electronics manufacturing industry. • Provide employment - Direct-3,00,000 & Indirect- 12,00,000 by 2009 • Promote Tier-II Cities in the State for balanced & regional socio economic development Goal

Electronic Industry – A Boon to Society • SME’s are the back bone of Country’s Economy • 45% of Country’s Economy depends on SME’s • 40,000 employees work directly in Electronics segment. 40,000 more employees work with supporting ancillary industry. • Electronic Hardware industry alone can create employment for all types of categories (S.S.C, ITI, Diploma, BE etc.,)

SALIENT FEATURES OF JKC • JKC is a major IT HRD initiative started in 2005 to harness the vast potential available for the employment under IT/ITES sector. • JKC is collaborative effort of Govt – Industry& Academia • 86 JKCs in 224 Colleges with 40 Industry Partners • Final year Students are trained in spoken english, communication skills, domain skills and other employable skills for a period of 12 • months in engineering & degree colleges to improve their employability in IT/ITES companies • Curriculum continuously revised with inputs from industry so as to meet the manpower requirements of the companies. • So far 3147 students trained by JKCs have been recruited by IT companies.
