2. The Idea… • 1992 Garstang Oxfam Group begins a Fairtrade campaign • April 27th, 2000 Garstang becomes the first Fairtrade Town

3. The Result • 579 Fairtrade Towns in the UK • Fairtrade towns, cities, villages, islands, boroughs and counties. • Not only geographic communities: schools, universities, workplaces, and places of worship. • 1400 Fairtrade Towns, 24 countries
