Programmes in Library Science Certificate for Library Assistants (with HKLA since 1964) • Entry requirement 5 passes, including English, at grade E or above in HKCEE, or equivalent • Duration - 9 months • Joint programme with Hong Kong Library Association (HKLA) • Para-professional course for library assistants • Conducted in English & Chinese • Part-time evening classes • Course fee: $7,500 • Commencement date – September 2010

(commissioned by the EDB, HK SAR Govt) Diploma of Teacher Librarianship • Entry requirement A teacher certificate or equivalent (subject to Education Bureau’s requirements if sponsored by EDB) • Duration 2 years (12 modules) • Provide school librarians with professional knowledge and skills on: • - library and information science • - analyzing information needs for teachers and learners • - the use of information and learning resource according to • curriculum objectives • Course fee: $35,000 • Commencement date – October 2010

Higher Diploma in Library and Information Management (full-time programme) Entry requirement Year 1 entry: 3 passes in the HKCEE plus Level 2 or above in Chinese and English in HKCEE, or equivalent Year 2 entry: 5 passes in HKCEE (including English and Chinese); and a pass in 1 AL subject or 2 AS subjects in HKALE Duration 2 - 3 years

(with EASTICA) Duration 3 weeks (full-time)

Executive Certificate Programmes Executive Certificate in Digital Library / Information Centre Management Entry requirementA Bachelor Degree is preferred Duration 66 contact hours (22 sessions X 3 hours) Executive Certificate in Knowledge Management Entry requirementA Bachelor Degree is preferred Duration 60 contact hours (20 sessions X 3 hours)

Programme Structure – Bachelor of Information Studies • For HDLIM • 8 core subjects • 1 practical subject • 2 elective subjects • For Non HDLIM • 12 core subjects • 3 practical subjects • 10 elective subjects Exemption may be granted to AD or HD graduates, not for Library & Information Science graduates.
