  1. Election Day Analysis Just how are we persuaded to vote for different candidates?

  2. Set up your Google Doc like this: Hour 3, First Name Last Name, Election Day

  3. Deconstructing the Devices • Google/search for at least two different ads for EACH of the following presidential candidates: • Barack Obama • Mitt Romney • In your Google Doc, jot down—if any persuasive devices—that you see in the different political ads. Be sure to use some specific details to support your ideas!

  4. What about the news coverage? • Take some time to look at election day coverage on the following news websites: • http://www.cnn.com/ • http://www.foxnews.com/ • http://www.nbcnews.com/ • As you are skimming different stories, analyze if you think you are seeing any examples of persuasive devices. • Likewise, if you see any examples of when you think a news article is being unfair or favoring one of the candidates, make a note of it and briefly summarize what you are seeing. • We will also be using these findings in later discussions!
