  1. “TOTALLY RAD”Radiology Skills WorkshopforMedical Students American College of Radiology’s Commission for Women and Diversity & Medical Education & Student Outreach (MESO) Team

  2. Timeframe: 1 ½ - 2 Hours Ideally, 2 spaces needed: Classroom for Food & Beverages, Presentations Large open space for 3-6 Stations

  3. Provide refreshments. Show short video about Radiology. Volunteer Physician Leaders speak & answer questions. If available, allow former PIER* Scholars to speak about their experience. *Pipeline Initiative for the Enrichment of Radiology First 30 -45 minutes:

  4. 1-1 ½ Hours: Hands-on DemonstrationsStudents Rotate in Groups Among Stations ULTRASOUND-GUIDED PROCEDURES: Biopsies & Aspirations using homemade phantoms Other Options: Body Scanning; Doppler Flow Studies INTERVENTIONAL PROCEDURES: “Angio Sam”: Catheterization “Filtering Fran”: IVC Filter Placement/Retrieval

  5. Additional Stations RADIOLOGY TEACHES: Education on Appropriate Imaging using ACR Select Clinical Decision Support RADIATION ONCOLOGY MIM Software: Radiation Treatment Planning PACS STATION: Display images in various modalities.

  6. Need Radiology/Radiation Oncology Volunteer at Each Station

  7. Allow time for questions.
